Transparency & Financials
We take stewardship seriously. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we make our key documents available to the public, as required by the IRS — and because trust is the foundation of everything we do.
Our public documents
Federal law requires tax-exempt organizations to make certain documents available for public inspection. The Wallace Family Foundation is happy to provide the following upon request:
- Our IRS determination letter recognizing our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status
- Our application for exemption (Form 1023) and supporting documents
- Our three most recent annual information returns (Form 990 / 990-PF), excluding the list of contributors (Schedule B), as permitted by law
Where to verify us
You can independently confirm our tax-exempt status and review our public filings through these free resources once our filings are processed:
- IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search — the IRS's official database of exempt organizations
- ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer — searchable Form 990 filings
- Candid / GuideStar — nonprofit profiles and financials
How we use our resources
The Wallace Family Foundation directs its resources toward scholarships, community causes, and local programs in Sharon and the Shenango Valley. We operate with modest overhead so that the maximum share of every dollar reaches the people and causes we serve.
